SCOTLAND EASE TO VICTORY OVER DUTCH IN WORLD CUP WARM-UP
Scotland continued their ICC Women's T20 World Cup preparations with a dominant 59-run win over the Netherlands in Derby.
Batting first, Scotland posted 163-5, with Darcey Carter (33), Kathryn Bryce (32) and Priyanaz Chatterji (32*) all making significant contributions.
Carter stroke an explosive 22-ball 33 at the top of the order to get Scotland off to a superb start, before the Netherlands hit back through the middle overs, with Silver Siegers (2-15) impressive.
Scotland had slid to 113-5 in the 15th over, but Chatterji and Pippa Sproul (20*) combined to add an unbroken 50 run partnership from just 31 deliveries, lifting their side to an imposing 163-5.
In response, the Dutch never recovered from losing three wickets inside the powerplay, as they were bowled out for 104.
Gabriella Fontenla (2-2) removed Heather Siegers and Babette de Leede, before Olivia Bell dismissed Sterre Kalis to leave the Dutch 13-3 in the fifth over.
The Netherlands were never in the game from that point - despite Phebe Molkenboer (25) and Frederique Overdijk (28*) showing some resistance - as Katherine Fraser (3-21) and Abtaha Maqsood (2-16) tore through the middle and lower order.
Gabriella Fontenla said: "It was really good to get out there, it probably doesn't feel reel that we're at a World Cup quite yet.
"I was pretty nervous coming on opening the bowling, but I felt like it went well - I just committed to what know I can do, and felt in pretty good rhythm."
