SCOTS MAKE PERFECT HOMECOMING WITH DOMINANT WIN
Scotland enjoyed a perfect start to their Heriot-Watt University Women's T20i Tri-Series, as they marked their first game on home soil in four years with a dominant nine-wicket win over Netherlands.
Electing to bat first, Netherlands posted 141-8 - a total that looked under par after they hit 55 inside the powerplay, as Heather Siegers (32 from 16) got her side off to a terrific start.
But Scotland's bowlers pulled things back superbly, conceding just 63 from the second 10 overs, as Kirstie Gordon took 3-27 from her four overs, ably supported by Katherine Fraser (1-19) and Priyanaz Chatterji (1-22) in particular.
In reply, Darcey Carter and Katherine Fraser struck a match-winning 101 run partnership inside 11 overs, with Carter the chief aggressor as she raced to her half-century from just 33 deliveries.
The pair took one Isobel van der Woning over for 29, and by the time Frederique Overdijk made the breakthrough as Carter (55) holed out, the game was up.
Kathryn Bryce joined Fraser in the middle, as the pair added the remaining 43 in quick time - Fraser finishing unbeaten on 56, and Bryce on 23, as Scotland reached their target inside 15 overs.
