Darcey Carter struck a third-consecutive half-century to blast Scotland to a 10-wicket victory over the UAE, and a third-straight win to open the Emerging Nations Trophy.

Scotland were outstanding with the ball and in the field to restrict the UAE to 93-8 - Katherine Fraser taking 2-12 on her return to the side, whilst the Scots also effected three run outs.

In response, Carter (54*) and Lister (37*) put on their highest opening partnership of the tour, firing their side to their target inside 15 overs.

Sarah Bryce said: "We're delighted with how it went, from start to finish we had great energy. It was out out there, but we dealt with that really well, and then had a brilliant partnership with the bat, so I'm absolutely delighted.

"I'm really proud of the way we fielded, it's something we work really hard on, and it's an important part of the game, so it's really pleasing the way everyone fielded today."

Bowling first for the first time in the Emerging Nations Trophy, Scotland were right on top of the UAE from the off, taking three wickets inside the first four oves. Olivia Bell and Rachel Slater both struck, before Lister ran out the dangerous UAE skipper, Esha Oza, for 13.

It was a start from which the UAE were never really able to recover from, as Scotland kept up the pressure throughout. No bowler went at more than a run-a-ball as wickets fell regularly, with Fraser the pick of the attack, taking 2-12 from her four overs.

In reply, Carter and Lister never looked troubled - adding 41 inside the powerplay, and bringing up their fifty partnership in the ninth over.

The ball after hoisting Athige Silva down the ground for six, Carter would go to a third consecutive half-century from 53 deliveries - and her fourth on the current tour, where she is averaging 151.5.

The victory would come in the following over, Lister striking the winning runs as she finished unbeaten on 37 - and Scotland remained the only unbeaten side in the Emerging Nations Trophy.

Scotland's next game is against the Namibia on Tuesday from 0645 GMT, and can be watched live and free on icc.tv.
