RAIN DENIES SCOTS FOLLOWING DOMINANT DISPLAY WITH THE BALL

Scotland were denied by the rain for the second consecutive game in Windhoek, as torrential rain prevented the Scots from capitalising on a strong display with the ball.

Inserting their hosts, Scotland restricted Namibia to 189-8 when the players were taken from the field in the 47th over - and a brief respite from the weather offered Scotland a target of 194 from 43 overs, but just minutes from the resumption, further rain proved terminal.

Scotland made an excellent start with the ball as both Namibia openers fell cheaply - Jack Jarvis bowling Willem Myburgh (0) in his first over, and Brandon McMullen dismissing Malan Kruger (3).

Safyaan Sharif continued to inflict pain on the hosts, bowling Jan Frylinck (14) with a searing yorker, before Gerhard Erasmus (8) edged behind to Matthew Cross, as Namibia slid to 36-4.

Louren Steenkamp and Zane Green steadied the ship for their side as they dragged Namibia back into the contest, adding 124 for the fifth wicket.

Steenkamp went to his first 50 at this level, but when he fell in the 40th over to Mark Watt, for 78, it sparked another collapse.

Green reached 62 before he also fell to the impressive Watt (2-25), whilst the returning Jarvis did for Dylan Leicher (9) and JJ Smit (4), Scotland reasserting control as four wickets fell for just 29 runs.

Jarvis impressed with his 3-35, finishing as the pick of the Scotland bowlers - with the sides forced from the field by heavy rain when Namibia were 189-8 in the 47th over. With the weather failing to relent, Scotland suffered a second-straight abandonment in Windhoek.
