SCOTS HANG ON TO SECURE ZIMBABWE SERIES

asper Davidson took a remarkable 7-wicket haul as a Scotland XI grabbed a thrilling win over Zimbabwe A in Harare.

The Grange paceman returned figures of 7-75, striking with his second ball and then returning to clinch the victory in the 49th over, as the Scots, defending 347, bowled their hosts out for 340 to win by 7 runs and secure the series with one match to spare.

Earlier, Brandon McMullen compiled a superb 115 from just 80 balls, supported by 82 from Fin McCreath, as Scotland set an imposing total on a flat wicket. In reply, Antum Naqvi smashed an astonishing 158 from 110 balls (including nine sixes) to chase down the target, but the Scots hung on.

Player of the Match Jasper said:

"The team batted really well, particularly Fin and Brando who showed again how good he is. At lunch we were pretty happy with the score, but we knew it was a flat wicket and that we had to bowl well.

"I'm really happy to pick up seven wickets. Towards the end it got a bit closer than we wanted it to, but the boys stuck at it and did really well, and Jack Jarvis in his final over really set it up for me to finish the job and made it a bit easier us to get over the line.

The Scots conclude their tour on Monday with a third 50-over match against Zimbabwe A.
