OUR COMMITMENT 

Cricket Scotland is committed to improving our umpiring workforce at all levels and an important part of this strategy is access to formal education courses. Below is some basic information on the courses on offer and how to register on them.

ICC UMPIRE FOUNDATION COURSE

The ICC Umpire Foundation Course is a free online course for parents, facilitators, and volunteers who wish to know more about how they can manage a game of cricket played in a safe, inclusive and enjoyable way.

The course is delivered entirely online, and can be completed at your own pace.

To complete the foundation course, participants must sign-up to the ICC's Training and Education Programme, EdApp.

ICC UMPIRE COURSE LEVEL 1

The ICC Umpire Course Level 1 is for umpires who are officiating at local league level who wish to know more about how they can manage the game in a professional manner.

The Level 1 Course will help umpires develop their knowledge, skills and understanding in order to facilitate cricket at league level in their local area.

The course consists of four online learning modules, and in-person learning across two days, delivered by an ICC accredited tutor.

Participants must complete the free ICC Umpire Foundation Course to unlock the online component of the Level 1 course.

CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT

Umpires in Scotland will be supported with their continued development, to enable further education and progression.
