TABLE CRICKET FESTIVAL SET FOR DUNDEE

Cricket Scotland is delighted to confirm details of the forthcoming Table Cricket Festival being held in Dundee on Monday 17 March.

 

The inclusive indoor event, where the great game is adapted to be played on table-tennis tables, will welcome schools from around Scotland to the Dundee & Angus College Gardyne Campus from 10am.

 

The festival is being held in partnership with Lord's Taverners, Cricket Scotland’s key partner for disability cricket projects across the country, and actively supported by Live Active Perth, Scottish Disability Sport and Leisure and Culture Dundee.

 

Scotland Women’s Head Coach Craig Wallace will take time out from preparing for the forthcoming ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier to offer his support to the players, as he looks forward to his first experience of table cricket.

 

Connor Brian, Cricket Scotland’s Disability Cricket Development Officer, said:

 

“We’re really excited to bring schools from across the country together to Dundee for the Table Cricket Festival, where they’ll be able to compete, have fun and make new friends in a safe and positive sporting environment.

 

“As highlighted in our recent strategy, Cricket Scotland is striving to embed equality throughout our game. Table Cricket is a highly adaptable and inclusive version of the game we all know and love, helping make cricket more accessible to all.

 

“I’d like to extend a huge thanks to our community partners Lord’s Taverners, Scottish Disability Sport, Leisure and Culture Dundee and Live Active Perth for their hard work and support in organising this event.”
