DEVELOPMENT TEAM STRENGTHENED FOR 2025

Cricket Scotland is delighted to confirm three new appointments to the Development Team ahead of the 2025 domestic season.

 

Two Regional Development Officers have been joined by a new Disability Development Officer, bringing the team up to full strength ahead of what is set to be a busy year.

 

Connor Brian joins Cricket Scotland as Disability Cricket Development Officer, with responsibility for overseeing Scottish cricket's Super 1’s hubs and SEND/ASN school delivery across the country, working with nine current Champion Clubs and taking the lead on setting up new hubs and projects.

 

He joins Cricket Scotland from the Hibernian Community Foundation, where he's worked with an aim of growing autism and neurodiversity football. Having worked within grassroots football previously at Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust, Connor also worked as a physical education teacher in the United Arab Emirates for a brief period.

 

The new Regional Development Officer for the Central region is Gary McDaid, who'll cover clubs in Angus, Dundee and Fife, as well as being the Cricket Scotland contact for Perthshire clubs. Gary is well know within Scottish cricket for his development work across a number of areas on a variety of projects  in recent times (including in the picture below assisting at last September's community event at Grange CC, held prior to the Australia T20I series). Gary brings a wealth of experience from his background in cricket development and coaching in both Northern Ireland and Scotland, including most recently with Penicuik CC in Midlothian.

 

 

Finally, Cameron Rochow joins the team as East Regional Development Officer, with responsibility for clubs in Edinburgh and the Lothians. Cameron has moved north from a role with Durham Cricket, where he worked with the community engagement team and gained great experience working on breaking down barriers to participation in cricket.

 

Prior to Durham, Cameron worked with Cricket Victoria in Australia, and hopes to apply the variety of knowledge and viewpoints he gained from these different roles to cricket in the east of Scotland.
