ETPL ANNOUNCES DETAILS OF EDINBURGH FRANCHISE

The European T20 Premier League franchise competition has been formally launched at an event in Sydney.
The six-franchise league, a partnership between Rules Global and Cricket Ireland, has the support of Cricket Scotland and the KNCB, and has received official ICC approval. The league is scheduled to get underway in August 2026 with a men's tournament based in Netherlands and Ireland. A women's competition is planned to begin in 2027, when fixtures will also be played in Scotland for the first time.
Details have now been confirmed of three franchise owners, including Amsterdam, Belfast and Edinburgh. The final three franchises owners will be revealed later in the spring.
The as-yet unnamed Edinburgh franchise has been purchased by a New Zealand-based consortium, led by former Black Caps internationals Kyle Mills and Nathan McCullum.
