WOMEN'S T20 WORLD CUP SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
Scotland will open their 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland at Old Trafford on Saturday 13 June.
The Scots, alongside Ireland, have been place in Group 2 following their success at January's Global Qualifier in Nepal. Scotland will also face England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and the West Indies across an exciting two weeks in June.
The most eagerly anticipated clash will be against hosts England - who Scotland will now have faced at four consecutive Men's and Women's T20 World Cups - at Headingley Stadium, under the lights on Saturday 20 June.
Scotland Women's Head Coach Craig Wallace said:
"It's so exciting to be going to another World Cup, and for it to be in England is amazing, where we can play in conditions that we're used to and that we know really well.
"There's a little bit of familiarity with some of the teams we'll be playing. Obviously we know Ireland really well and we've played the West Indies in the last year - but it's only our second World Cup so we haven't played many of these teams very often.
"The most pleasing thing is getting to play England and the West Indies in Leeds, which hopefully allows our supporters to travel and for lots of the girls' family and friends to be there. To play England on a Saturday evening at Headingley will be an amazing night and memory for the group.
"There's a lot of hard work to do over the next few months, and it's going to be a hugely exciting period as we work towards the World Cup.
"A lot of the squad are back with their counties now preparing for the summer, but in May we will have a home series to prepare for the World Cup, which is hugely exciting in itself. It's an opportunity to play in Scotland for the first time since 2022, and hopefully we can use that visibility to inspire as many people as possible."
Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce said:
“It’s going to be absolutely incredible playing at a World Cup in England and Wales. It’s probably the closest we will get to playing at home, so it’s going to be super exciting to be so close to home and give people from Scotland the chance to travel and watch and support the national team on this sort of stage.
“For the young boys and girls in Scotland who’ve been watching cricket or picked it up during the last few years, for it to now be possible for them to come and see players from their country playing in a World Cup nearby is pretty special.
“The way this World Cup has been marketed so far is great, and there’s going to be a massive push on the outreach and engagement which I think is fantastic for women’s cricket across the country, so it’s really exciting to look ahead and think about the history that is going to be made this summer.”
