ICC EMERGING NATIONS TROPHY MOVED TO UAE

ICC EMERGING NATIONS TROPHY MOVED TO UAE

The ICC has confirmed this year's ICC Emerging Nations Trophy will take place in Ajman, UAE, between 10-26 November.

The decision follows the postponement of the tournament from its original venue of Thailand due to flooding in the country, which affected the venues due to host the event.

Scotland have been drawn in Group A alongside Sri Lanka, Ireland, Papua New Guinea and UAE, with their opening match on Thursday 12 November against Papua New Guinea. They then face Sri Lanka the following day, before taking on the hosts UAE on Sunday 15 November. Scotland's final group game is a clash with Ireland on Wednesday 18 November.

The top three sides in each group advance to the Super Six, with points carried over from the first round groups. The top two sides after the Super Six meet in the final on Wednesday 25 November.

Last year Scotland finished fourth in the inaugural Emerging Nations Trophy, after a final day defeat to Thailand damaged their net run rate and meant they missed out on the chance to lift the trophy. The top four teams finished equal on points, with hosts Thailand crowned champions.
