CRICKET SCOTLAND SEEKS PARTNER FOR T20 WORLD CUP VENUE FEASIBILITY STUDY
Cricket Scotland is inviting proposals from experienced organisations to undertake a venue feasibility assessment as preparations begin for Scotland’s role in hosting matches at the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2030.
The tournament, which will be jointly hosted by England, Ireland and Scotland, is one of the world’s premier sporting events and will bring the global cricket community to the UK and Ireland. Hosting the event provides a major opportunity to showcase Scotland on the international stage while strengthening the long-term growth of cricket across the country.
To support planning for the tournament, Cricket Scotland is seeking an independent partner to assess potential venue options capable of hosting matches in Scotland. The study will explore how Scotland can successfully deliver World Cup fixtures while maximising the wider benefits of the event for the sport, local communities and the visitor economy.
The work will involve reviewing existing sporting venues, considering the potential role of established international cricket grounds, and exploring opportunities for a new long-term home for Scottish cricket. The assessment will identify opportunities, constraints and investment requirements for different venue options, while also examining transport, infrastructure and legacy considerations. The final output will provide clear recommendations to support Cricket Scotland’s decision-making as preparations for the tournament progress.
The project is expected to run between April and June 2026, with a final report delivered in late June. Cricket Scotland has allocated a maximum budget of £20,000 (excluding VAT) for the work, thanks to the support of VisitScotland and sportscotland.
Organisations with relevant expertise in sports infrastructure, major event planning, venue development or feasibility studies are encouraged to submit a quotation outlining their approach, experience and proposed delivery plan.
