SCOTLAND LEVEL SERIES WITH THUMPING WIN OVER NETHERLANDS
Scotland bounced back from Friday's defeat to the Netherlands with a thumping nine-wicket win at Stirling to level the series.
Chasing 130 to win a rain-reduced contest, Scotland reached their target inside 17 overs thanks to a terrific, unbroken 113 run partnership from Darcey Carter and Sarah Bryce.
After further overnight rain, the game was reduced to 32 overs-per-side, with Scotland winning the toss and electing to bowl as play finally got underway at 3pm.
The Scots were clinical with the ball and in the field to restrict the Netherlands to 129-9 from their 32 overs - at one point having the Dutch 52-5 as Carter and Abtaha Maqsood tore through the top order.
Babette de Leede provided the greatest resistance, with an impressive 64-ball 58, supported by Caroline de Lange (20), as the sixth wicket partnership of 58 gave the Netherlands hope of posting a competitive total.
However, Katherine Fraser dismissed de Lange to spark a run of four wickets for just six runs, as the Netherlands finished on just 129 - Maqsood the pick of the Scotland attack with 3-20.
In response, Scotland lost Maryam Faisal early - the opener striking two boundaries before she was bowled by Myrthe van den Raad.
That brought together Sarah Bryce and Darcey Carter, who made light work of their task - their unbroken 113 run stand coming in under 15 overs, as they cruise to victory.
Bryce was the chief aggressor, reaching her half-century from just 47 deliveries, and finishing on an unbeaten 59-ball 70, containing 11 boundaries, whilst Carter (33*) played a superb supporting role.
That sets up a series decider tomorrow at Stirling, with entry for spectators free.
