RECITE ME TOOLBAR CREATING ACCESSIBLE ENVIRONMENT
Cricket Scotland supports 2025's International Day of Persons with Disabilities, with a call to place disability inclusion at the centre of social progress.
Unequal access to assistive technologies and accessible environments is a persistent barrier that remains for those with disabilities remains, which Cricket Scotland has sought to remove with Recite Me's Accessibility Toolbar.
Since 2024, Cricket Scotland has partnered with Recite Me to enhance accessibility to Scottish cricket news and features for cricket fans of all backgrounds. Recognising that cricket should be a sport for everyone, Cricket Scotland has worked with Recite Me to create a digital experience that is truly inclusive.
The toolbar on our website allows visitors with disabilities, visual impairments, learning difficulties, or those who speak English as a second language to customise content so that they can consume it in ways that work best for them.
The accessibility toolbar can be accessed via the small icon of a figure with arms outstretched at the top of the screen. The toolbar includes:
- A screen reader for visual impairments
- Customisable fonts and colours
- Translation into more than 130 languages including Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, Mandarin, Punjabi and many more
