BESPOKE EDI E-LEARNING MODULES LAUNCHED IN NATIONAL INCLUSION WEEK
Cricket Scotland is pleased to launch two bespoke EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion) E-learning modules for the Scottish cricket community.
The release of the modules, at the beginning of this year’s National Inclusion Week, represent an important step in Cricket Scotland’s commitment to creating a truly inclusive and equitable environment across Scottish cricket. The modules align with the goal of increased awareness and education in the cricketing community, as laid out in Cricket Scotland’s Equality Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, published in 2024.
Built in partnership with digital design company Dynamic, the certified modules have been accredited by the National Centre for Diversity. Funding for the modules has been provided by sportscotland, and they are now available to access on the Brightspace learning platform.
Module 1, titled “Cricket for All”, has been designed for the wider cricket community, including club players, spectators, parents and volunteers. Module 2, titled “Creating a Fairer Game”, provides a more in-depth look at the subject matter and is targeted at club and regional administrators, match officials and those within Cricket Scotland’s staffing and coaching structures.
Cricket Scotland will track the uptake and feedback from this e-learning as part of wider engagement with the cricket community.

“I am delighted to launch these training modules, which align directly with our core values and are designed to promote a more transparent and accountable environment in Scottish cricket.
“This training has been developed in line with best practice and addresses key areas such as the nine protected characteristics under the UK Equality Act 2010 and doing the right thing from a moral and legal perspective.
“Real life case studies are contained within the e-learning, which is designed to challenge, create discussion and promote reflection. Cricket Scotland’s goal is to build trust and confidence within the governing body, and with its communities, partners and stakeholders, and I would encourage the wider cricketing community to embrace this training and feed back to us on its impact and effectiveness.
“It is particularly significant to launch these modules at the beginning of National Inclusion Week. This year’s theme ‘Now is the Time,’ resonates as a call to action, urging resilience in prioritising inclusion in workplaces. Everyone at Cricket Scotland takes pride in being part of a diverse workforce, but we are also the national governing body of what we believe is an incredibly diverse and inclusive sport across Scotland.
“It is important that we assist our clubs and communities with understanding the importance of inclusivity, fairness and ethical conduct at all levels of our sport, and this e-learning is a significant step forward in our journey to do this. I would also like to thank sportscotland and Dynamic Business for their support in the build process of these modules.”
