TRUDY LINDBLADE JOINS WORLD CRICKET CONNECTS ADVISORY BOARD
Cricket Scotland is delighted to confirm that CEO Trudy Lindblade has been invited to join the new World Cricket Connects Advisory Board (Connects Board), which includes a series of influential figures from across the world of cricket.
The Board replaces the MCC World Cricket Committee, which has historically acted as a sounding board for the ICC. The new Board is chaired by former Sri Lanka captain and ex-MCC President Kumar Sangakkara, and includes, amongst others:
- Jay Shah, ICC President
- Chris Dehring, CEO of West Indies Cricket
- Sourav Ganguly, a former India captain and former President of the BCCI
- Mel Jones, a broadcaster and ex-Australia international
- Andrew Strauss, a former England captain and former ECB Director of Cricket
- Graeme Smith, a former South Africa captain and league commissioner of the SA20
- Heather Knight, the current England Women's captain

The aim of the World Cricket Connects Advisory Board, which will meet three times a year, including in person at Lord's in June ahead of the World Test Championship Final, is according to the MCC "to become the leading symposium in the game, facilitating the debate of strategic issues in an independent forum, and establishing a consensus on paths to ensure cricket's future success."

"I'm truly honoured to accept this invite to join the Connects Board. It was a pleasure to attend and speak on a panel at last year's inaugural World Cricket Connects forum, which I felt was a hugely successful event, so I'm thrilled to be asked to sit on the new Connects Board on behalf of Cricket Scotland.
"I see my role on the Connects Board as a great opportunity for associate cricket to have a voice amidst some of the most influential figures in the world game. From a Scottish perspective, it is incredibly important that we have the ability to make a mark in a global capacity, and I look forward to contributing to the discussion on the challenges and the opportunities that our game faces domestically and further afield as part of this forum."
