SCOTLAND WOMEN WIN ICC ASSOCIATE MEMBER WOMEN'S TEAM PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR AWARD
The International Cricket Council has announced the global winners of the 2024 ICC Development Awards.
Launched in 2002, the Development Awards celebrate the innovation and initiative of the game’s Associate Members, “leading the growth of the sport around the world.”
The ICC Associate Member Women’s Team Performance of the Year acknowledges the outstanding women’s on-field performance of the year by an Associate Member team in an ICC event or bilateral cricket.
Scotland Women earned the award following a historic 2024, qualifying for a first-ever Women's T20 World Cup after coming through the Global Qualifier in Abu Dhabi in April.
The Scots then went on to compete at the event for the first time in October, competing against England, South Africa the West Indies and Bangladesh in Dubai.
Trudy Lindblade, Cricket Scotland Chief Executive, accepted the award on behalf of the women's team from ICC Chair Jay Shah at the ICC Annual Conference in Singapore.
