KYLE COETZER NAMED TO NORTH EAST SCOTLAND CRICKET ASSOCIATION HALL OF FAME

Former Scotland captain Kyle Coetzer was inducted into the North East Scotland Cricket Association's Hall of Fame at their 2024 Prize-giving Dinner this weekend.

Coetzer, who began his career in the youth set-up at Stoneywood Dyce, was recognised by NESC members for his immense contribution to cricket in the region, and Scotland as a whole.

Coetzer led his nation 110 times across all formats, and his spell as Scotland captain including guiding his side to that famous victory over England at Grange CC in 2018, and to the Super 12s stage of the 2021 Men's T20 World Cup.

He was named the ICC Men's Associate Cricketer of the Decade in 2020 and awarded an MBE for Services to Cricket in the same year.

Reflecting on his induction, Coetzer said: "I have been privileged to play cricket all around the world, while having spells at English county sides Durham and Northamptonshire, but it's my time playing in the Aberdeenshire Grades that means as much as anything."
