MEN’S WINTER TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SQUADS CONFIRMED

The selection of the Scotland Men’s National Training Squad and National Development Squad for the 2025-2026 winter programme has been confirmed.
The squads have been selected with a view to forthcoming individual and team commitments during the winter, consideration around player development, and planning selection for fixtures in 2026 and beyond.
Players currently involved in the Scotland Men’s U19 squad were not considered, in order to ensure continuity in their training schedules ahead of the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in January 2026. Players with full-time county contracts in England were also not considered, along with players currently unavailable due to personal circumstances or work commitments, as well as those currently unavailable for forthcoming foreign tours.

Steve Snell, Cricket Scotland Head of Performance, said:
“In confirming these squads for the winter period, we have had to consider certain logistical factors including player availability, resource limitations with coaching staff and the availability and accessibility of facilities.
“There are some new faces in the National Training Squad which is great to see, along with players that have been regularly involved in the national team for some time. All of the players selected are on the cusp of selection and well positioned to vie for places in major upcoming international fixtures and competitions, primarily ICC CWCL2, the ICC Men’s World Cup in 2027 and the 2028 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
“At the same time, the National Development Squad has been selected with the rationale of providing structured opportunities and targeted support to individuals with potential who are not yet on the cusp of national squad selection. The intention is to invest in their future and focus on development through personalised training and engagement programs that hone their skills, game awareness and fitness levels.
“By aligning these players’ development with the broader competitive goals of the national squad the aim is to enhance their readiness for higher levels of play in the future.”
