FACILITIES STRATEGY OPEN FOR PUBLIC CONSULTATION

Cricket Scotland is pleased to announce the start of the public consultation period for its National Facilities Strategy.

 

The consultation period follows a review of cricket facilities across Scotland in 2025, which has resulted in eight draft recommendations. The cricketing community now have the opportunity to offer their views and feedback on the Strategy – please click HERE for more information.

 

The consultation period will last until 1 March 2026, following which the strategy will be updated and finalised for implementation from 1 April 2026.

 

Cricket Scotland is also looking to host a series of regional meetings to inform clubs about the findings and recommendations within the strategy, with dates for these meetings to be announced shortly.

“This first dedicated Facilities Strategy for Scottish cricket marks a significant step in that journey. It sets out our shared vision: to provide high-quality places to play and train, to support clubs and communities in upgrading and maintaining their grounds, and to create environments that inspire the next generation of players.

 

“This strategy is not only about pitches, pavilions, and practice nets. It is about the role facilities play in bringing people together, in fostering belonging, and in ensuring cricket continues to have a proud and visible place in Scotland’s sporting landscape. It reflects the voices of our clubs, players, volunteers, and partners and it charts a path towards a stronger, more inclusive, and more sustainable future for the game we love.”
