U19 WOMEN FACE ENGLAND, SRI LANKA AND USA AT WORLD CUP
Scotland U19 will pmeetay England, Sri Lanka and USA at the ICC Women's U19 World Cup in January 2027, as the schedule was confirmed on Wednesday.
The Scots face Sri Lanka on Thursday 21 January, the opening day of the tournament. They then meet USA on Saturday 23 January before concluding their Group D campaign against England on Monday 25 January.
Scotland will look to emulate their performances from the 2025 tournament, where they made history as they beat Nepal in a thrilling encounter to reach the Super 6 stage for the first time. A top-three finish in their group will ensure qualification for that stage once again, with points being carried over from the groups. The top two teams in each Super 6 group progress to the knockout semi-finals.
All three of Scotland's fixtures will take place at Upper Mulpani International Cricket Ground in Kathmandu, Nepal. The tournament is being co-hosted by Bangladesh and Nepal for the first time, with the final scheduled for Saturday 6 February in Chattogram, Bangladesh.
ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta said:
"The ICC U19 World Cup is the stage that showcases the future of our sport and serves as the ultimate platform for young players to make the leap towards elite careers representing their countries. These future stars representing 16 teams will garner the world's attention and become relatable role models for many young girls playing the sport, serving inspiration for their continued cricket journeys.
"The choice of our hosts – Bangladesh and Nepal – is also reflective of the ICC's belief and investment in the future of the cricket ecosystem. With deep passion for cricket and nearly 40% of the two countries' populations below the age of 20, they serve as the ideal hosts for one of the world's biggest youth sporting events."
