FALKIRK HIGH SCHOOL TRIUMPH AT NATIONAL TABLE CRICKET FESTIVAL

Falkirk High School have earned the opportunity to represent Scotland at Lord's Cricket Ground this summer, having triumphed at Friday's National Table Cricket Festival in Dundee.

 

The National Table Cricket Festival, delivered in partnership with Lord's Taverners, was the culmination of a year of growth for the sport in Scotland, following the hosting of regional festivals across the country leading up to Friday's national event.

 

Eight teams from six schools competed in Dundee, in addition to the 19 schools that had competed at regional events - with Falkirk now having the chance to follow in Crieff High School's footsteps, and attend the Lord's Taverners National Table Cricket Finals at the Home of Cricket.

 

 

Connor Brian, Cricket Scotland’s Disability Cricket Development Officer, said:

 

"This was our second national event, and after the success of last year we made the decision to host a number of regional events across the country - easing the burden of travel, and ensuring we could reach as many young people in Scotland as possible.

 

"We had 59 participants from seven schools in 2025, and this year, with the addition of the regional events in Glasgow, Falkirk, Perth and Inverness, we have had 193 participants from 25 schools at our Table Cricket Festivals - showing how the sport has grown across the country.

 

"Table cricket is really important to what we want to achieve at Cricket Scotland, as it brings together people with a range of disabilities to compete at the same table. Everyone can play the same game, everyone can be competitive and everyone can have fun, which is what we want to see across the sport.

 

"Following a year of growth, we'll be looking to continue that next year by reaching new areas with our Table Cricket Festivals. We're now looking forward to our softball programme through the summer, and running regional festivals across Scotland, ensuring our game is accessible and inclusive for all."
