WALLACE'S SCOTLAND READY TO GO IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIER

Scotland Women completed their preparation ahead of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier this morning with a seven-wicket victory over PNG.
Priyanaz Chatterji (3-11) and Olivia Bell (2-14) were excellent with the ball as Scotland restricted PNG to 111-9, a decent recovery for the Pacific nation as they found themselves 36-5 inside nine overs.
But it was a total that was well under par, as Scotland reached their target inside 13 overs - Kathryn Bryce's 21-ball 38 setting the tone, before Sarah Bryce (28*) and Ailsa Lister (19*) guided their side over the line.

That followed a defeat in the opening warm-up game to the USA, where Scotland lost by four wickets as the Americans chased down 150 with seven balls remaining.
But after two weeks of preparation in Nepal, Head Coach Craig Wallace is pleased with where his side are at ahead of Tuesday's opening game against the Netherlands.
Wallace said: "Today was a really good performance, we worked on quite a lot of things over the past couple of days to really improve our play. Today we really did that, and implemented what we’ve been talking about, both with bat and ball, and in the field, which was really pleasing.
"Our overall build-up has been very good, but equally challenging, and it’s been a good couple of weeks of hard work together. It's been great to experience a new country in Nepal, and the facilities have been excellent, so we feel like we're in a good place to play the best cricket that we can.

“The conditions out here have been brilliant - the wickets look good and fast, but equally there’s a little bit in it for the bowlers if you bowl well. There’s a bit of seam movement in the morning with the early starts, and then spin comes into it later on, so the conditions are great for cricket. We can't wait to get going now!"
Scotland Women play their opening game of the qualifier on Tuesday 20 January against the Netherlands at 0715 GMT.
