SCOTS AND NAMIBIA FRUSTRATED BY CANADIAN CALLOFF

Scotland Men's tour of Canada got off to a soggy start as their opening ICC CWCL2 fixture against Namibia was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Despite sunny overhead conditions and a stiff breeze in Toronto, the ground staff at King City were unable to resolve some damp spots on the wicket. Extensive work took place throughout the day to try and get play underway, which included setting the pitch alight, but with no improvement to the condition of the wicket, an abandonment was confirmed at 1533 local time. Both teams earn one point each from the abandonment.

Scotland's next scheduled match is against hosts Canada on Sunday, with a start time of 1100 (1600 UK). The match will be shown live on ICC TV.
