MEN’S REGIONAL SUPER SERIES SET FOR JUNE START

Cricket Scotland is pleased to confirm details of the 2026 Men’s Regional Super Series, including coaching appointments, fixture schedules and criteria around selection of squads.

Following a thorough recruitment process, the following men’s Head Coach and Assistant Coach appointments have been made for the three regional squads:

  • Marc Petrie – Caledonia Highlanders Head Coach
  • Peter Ross – Caledonia Highlanders Assistant Coach
  • Andy Tennant – Eastern Knights Head Coach
  • Adnan Mufti – Eastern Knights Assistant Coach
  • Moneeb Iqbal – Western Warriors Head Coach
  • Craig Yelverton – Western Warriors Assistant Coach

The fixture schedule for this year’s Regional Super Series will consist of three “triple-header” T20 match days in June, followed by three 50-over match-days in July played under ODI conditions. A cumulative points tally across both formats and all six match-days will contribute to the final standings.

Steve Snell, Cricket Scotland’s Head of Performance, said:

“I’m delighted we are able to confirm more details about the Men’s Regional Super Series for 2026, which we’re pleased to welcome back to the schedule after a gap of several years.

“In terms of the coaching appointments for the three squads, we had a strong and competitive applicant pool throughout the process. Following careful consideration, we felt these appointments represented the best fit in terms of skill sets, experience, coach succession planning, and partnership working across the regional game. We are looking forward to seeing how the coaching teams develop and perform.

“On player selection, the squads will be announced shortly. The selection panel will consist of the Head Coach and Assistant Coach from each region, alongside myself, Scotland Men’s Head Coach Owen Dawkins and Scotland Men’s Assistant Coach Gordon Drummond.”

The 2026 Women’s Regional Series is scheduled to take place in mid-August, and more details around this, including coaching appointments, will be announced following the conclusion of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

Details of the final selection of squads for the Men’s Regional Super Series will be confirmed in due course. The selection policy for Men's Regional cricket can be found HERE.
