KATHERINE FRASER HOPING TO BUILD ON THE HUNDRED EXPERIENCE

Katherine Fraser was one of five Scotland Women internationals to feature in this year's The Hundred, selected by the Northern Superchargers as a Wildcard pick.

 

It was the 20-year-old all-rounder's first experience of The Hundred, featuring in two games for the Headingley-based franchise - who won the tournament for the first time.

 

Fraser said: "Getting to be a part of the Hundred with the Superchargers this year was a really special experience, with the highlight being the final at Lords.

 

"The whole day was a fantastic occasion, especially with it being at such a historic venue and the atmosphere was incredible."

 

Fraser was playing alongside a number of players with experience at the highest level, including Australian internationals Phoebe Litchfield, Annabel Sutherland, George Wareham and Nicola Carey.

 

"The most valuable part of the tournament for me was just getting to see how some of the best players in the world go about their game, and how they prepare in training to play at such a high level.

 

"It was also brilliant to get the chance to work with former Australian leg-spinner Kristen Beams who was our bowling coach, and I was just trying to learn as much as possible from her."

 

 

"My debut for the Superchargers against the Southern Brave was a really special game for me personally. it was something I wasn’t really expecting but I just tried to enjoy it and soak up the experience as much as possible.

 

"Obviously it was disappointing in that game not to get a win but it was nice to be able to contribute a bit with the ball."

 

Attention now turns back to international duty, with the Emerging Nations Trophy coming up for Scotland in Thailand in November.

 

"Looking ahead to the next few months, I’m excited to be back playing for Scotland in November," continued Fraser.

 

"The emerging nations trophy in Thailand will be a great event to be a part of, and presents a chance for us to play against some countries that we haven’t before, which will provide a different challenge, and it will also be excellent preparation ahead of the World Cup Qualifier in January.

 

"I’m looking forward to being back with the girls, and we're all excited to have the opportunity to win a trophy for Scotland which will be the aim!"
