SCOTLAND MOVE WITHIN ONE WIN OF U19 MEN'S WORLD CUP

A Rory Grant-inspired Scotland moved within one win of the 2026 U19 Men's Cricket World Cup, defeating Denmark by 26 runs to record their fourth consecutive win of the qualifier.

 

Grant's 124 helped Scotland post 292-6 - the highest total of the tournament so far - before Denmark were restricted to 266-6, 26 runs short.

 

Scotland also had important contributions with the bat from Theo Robinson (65) and Ali Khan (58*), both making an immediate impact in their first game of the tournament.

 

But it was Grant, building on the back-to-back 50s he struck to open the qualifier, who anchored the innings, batting from the 2nd through to the 47th over as he made a 146-ball 124, helping his side post an imposing 292-6.

 

 

Abdul Rafeh kept Denmark's hopes alive throughout the reply, striking an impressive 109 from 132 deliveries - but it was Scotland's spinners in particular who showed the control to restrict the Danish side.

 

Ollie Jones took 2-48 from his 10 overs, whilst Ram Sharma (0-21) and Manu Saraswat (1-21) both went at just three runs per over - as Denmark ultimately fell short of their target.
