MIKE SMITH: 1966-2026

Cricket Scotland is saddened to learn of the recent passing of former Scotland international Mike Smith at the age of 59, following a battle with cancer.
One of the most talented Scotland batters of his generation, Mike represented his country 73 times between 1987 & 1999, with a highlight being a century at Lord's against MCC in 1994. He was also a member of the first Scotland squad to compete at an ICC World Cup, in 1999. He spent the majority of his cricketing career at Aberdeenshire CC, with a final season spent at Grange CC in Edinburgh.

Everyone at Cricket Scotland sends their condolences and best wishes to Mike's friends family, including his brother Roddy, a former Chief Executive of the governing body, along with Mike's former teammates and connections at Aberdeenshire and Grange.
